Douglas K. Lawson's 1967 Triumph GT6 MkI
|
This car was special ordered and purchased for export in 1967 by my father-in-law. The car has wire wheels but is otherwise a largely stock GT6 Mk1. This car was raced at VIR in the late 1960s. During its racing days the original engine was replaced for a competition exchange unit. It has also been lowered about 1.5" with shorter front springs and a leaf spring spacer block on the differential. It retains its tubular header as well.
This car was driven by several members of our family until the title was transferred to my wife. Due to lack of local parts the car is currently running a TR-2000 block with modified mounts for the GT6 frame. The car is in its original Pure White paint with a red and white interior.
