All British Field Meet
“In 2022, the post-COVID, one-day show was a record-breaking success with maxed-out vehicle displays in 62 classes on the VanDusen lawns and sold-out attendance at the gates, with more than 7,000 enthusiasts of all ages in attendance,” said Patrick Stewart, event co-chair. “Display layout plans for the 2023 show are underway to maximize space within the confined areas of the Garden while maintaining an overall balance and variety of vehicles within the total number of classes.”
Show management is currently working to maintain vehicle numbers and marque classes, and registration forms will be available by December 10, 2022.
Featured marque anniversary celebrations for 2023 will pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the MG sports car, founded in 1923 by ‘Sir’ Cecil Kimber; the five-series versions of the Sunbeam Alpine; and recognition of all marques within the fast-growing Modified Class of vehicles. Two-wheel class will recognize British motorcycles with a featured display.
A unique look at the future will be showcased in an ElectraClassic vehicle display, showcasing the trend of combining classic looks with modern driveability. With this growing electrified trend, knowledge of the process is vital in these early days. This ABFM feature area will provide experts and examples of converted vehicles from which the public and entrants can learn.
The 2023 Vancouver ABFM will be a memorable occasion, with an entertaining gathering of British-built classics, exhibitors and vendors all on display on the Great Lawn of the magnificent VanDusen Botanical Garden.
“We are looking forward to opening the gates at VanDusen, seeing the classics roll in, and welcoming everyone to our much-cherished event,” said Joan Stewart, co-chair of Vancouver ABFM. “The popular Carriage Trade Teahouse will return to the Great Lawn, and plans call for a wider range of food concessions to whet the appetites of the event’s increased attendance.”

British By The Sea
For 2023, we will have 32+ Classes, displayed on our 4-acre field. We want to encourage ALL British car, truck, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to attend and have an enjoyable time. Whether your vehicle is in pristine condition, or a daily driver, sparkling paint and chrome or with “Barn Fresh” patina, it deserves to be part of the event and on the display field.
We are celebrating the 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MG, with our Marque of the Year being EARLY MGs 1923 thru 1955. Come down and enjoy the day mingling with other LBC owners, talk about cars, have a picnic, a glass of wine, and also take in all that the 240-acre Harkness Memorial State Park has to offer, such as the beach, the Mansion “Eolia”, and the Gardens. The CT MG Club donates a large amount of our proceeds from BBTS to the Park to purchase plants for the West Gardens, helping to restore the “Eolia” Gardens to their original grandeur as designed by Beatrix Farrand in 1919. In addition, we provide “people power” over a few weekends to plant them. We have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite, from coffee and pastry, hot dogs and hamburgers, lobster rolls, deli sandwiches and wood fired brick oven pizzas, to Ice Cream for dessert. You can also bring a picnic to enjoy and share “out of the boot” of your car.
The expansive lawn areas offer ample room for the display vehicles, vendors, spectator parking and a spacious area for trailer parking. Google BRITISH BY THE SEA 2014 YOUTUBE for an aerial video.
Visit our website above for more information, pictures of past events, aerial Drone video, and registration form. We hope to see you all on Sunday June 4th 2023. Please contact us if you need further information, Steve an’ Annie Wincze 860-693-4249 MGTD52@comcast.net

Champagne British Car Festival Car Show
Contact Brian J. Davis bjdavis@paddysgarage.com 309-662-4070
32nd annual Champagne British Car Festival
The Champagne British Car Festival (CBCF) is just around the corner, June 2-4, 2023 in Bloomington, Illinois. This is the 32nd anniversary of the Festival and you can expect an amazing weekend of British car activities. This all-British car show features over 125 brilliant British cars and motorcycles.
In 1923 Cecil Kimber, the Founder of MG Cars, designed, built, advertised and sold his first MG sports cars. To celebrate this 100th Anniversary, CBCF announced that MG will be the featured marque at this year’s car show on June 4, 2023.
Saturday evening’s banquet will feature this year’s Honorary Chairman and Guest Speaker, John Twist. John Twist is the MG guru behind Michigan’s University Motors who has helped countless people maintain, restore, and understand their MGs. He has run a successful shop, has an informative video series, and now is an international speaker. Twist was inducted into the British Sports Car Hall of Fame in 2017.
The weekend culminates on Sunday June 4th, 2023 with the Champagne British Car Show on beautiful Clover Lawn of David Davis Mansion, Bloomington, IL. The David Davis Mansion provides a wonderful backdrop to display over 125 British cars. The festival includes music, vendors, food and beverage options, and tables and chairs to enjoy your meal and drinks.
In keeping with the show’s recognition of 100 Years of MG, CBCF is hosting John Twist, nationally renowned MG mechanic and expert for a “Rolling Tech Session”. In addition to owning and operating University Motors LTD since 1975, John has been performing his famous rolling Tech Sessions at MG-related events throughout the country for decades. While John is an MG expert, this event is open to and appropriate for the owner of any British car as the mechanical systems are generally identical.
You can register electronically on our website using PayPal. There is a discount for early registrations so get your form submitted by May 28. We look forward to seeing you and your car at CBCF!
Please visit the CBCF website above and Facebook pages for more about the Festival and weekend activities.
