These are designed by Advanced Distributors, built and sold by Chris Harding (66mgbguy).
This new design is easier to install without as much fiddling and adjustment.
These are an automotive grade circuit board capacitor built to function in place of Lucas condensers for all Lucas distributors from 1955-74, plus TR6 to '76 and can be retrofitted into earlier distributors with a little modification.
These are built to fit and work in the DM2, 22D, 23D, and 25D. They can be adapted to function in a 45D, D2A, or DKY4A with a modification of the lead wire or mounting plate.
I can send you a kit that works if you have something other than a 25D, contact me at the email address below.
Original condensers were .18 -.20 mFd rated, and all new versions have gone higher and higher. I believe the Distributor Doctor and British Vacuum Unit versions are .22mFd, which put more stress on the points contacts and can allow premature burning. Ours are right at .2 mFd, so 10% more cushion to protect the points than the best ones available elsewhere.
The new replacements have fully soldered connections, use automotive grade wire, and marine grade shrink wrap tubing. These should last many, many years and the prototypes out on the road have been 100% successful.
No written warranty, but like all of my distributors, I stand behind my parts and design to resolve issues as needed.
We have many ready to ship and any quantity is available with a small lead time.
$20 USD each plus $3 flat rate shipping for any quantity, international shipping is actual cost and varies. Domestic Priority Mail is available at a $9 extra cost if requested.
