  • Slowly restoring GHN3L1899. Back from the painters

1899 was bought in the US by a friend in the early nineties from a gentleman of Cloverly, Arcadia CA 91006.
In those days it was handpainted in a reddish colour tone. At a distance it looked like dark tan red. Photo shows 1899 direct after arrival in Europe on authentic rims.
A few years ago I persuaded my friend to finally part from his pull handle car.
A lot of elbow grease later (bare metal respray) this lady is now dressed in black. The upholstery is to be red.
I rebuilt it on wire wheels, although originally it was fitted with steel rims. Front and rear axles are now fitted with new bearings, seals, shocks and springs. Engine and overdrive transmission completed some time ago. Complete new wiring as well as brake lines, new front calipers, rear cylinders and shoes.
Engine installed and test run. Electrics hooked up and tested. Windscreen placed.
Meanwhile fitting the doorcards and further panelling.
Should be out on the road before long
