“The Corsica”
FXN 602 is the second of just three Corsica 2-4 Super Sports models built by the Corsica Coachbuilding Company Ltd. for Lea Francis Engineering. All three examples survive.

Corsica Ltd. also built bespoke bodies for Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, British Salmson, Bugatti, Daimler, Frazer Nash, Godsal, Humber, Invicta, Isotta Fraschini, Lagonda, MG, Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Rover, Squire, Talbot, Triumph and Wolsely. Most Corsica bodies typically exhibited a stylish long, low hood line. Cecil Kimber's personal car for a time was a Corsica bodied, supercharged K Type Magnette drophead coupe, and Donald Healey's notable Triumph Dolomite was bodied by Corsica as well.

A 91 MPH Average Speed was achieved by a similar Super Sports model while winning the Second Brooklands August Long Handicap, driven by Charles Follett, August 1938. The restoration of FXN 602 was started in 1982 by Lea Francis enthusiast Frank Delaney of Harrington, UK and finally completed 31 years later in 2013 as a driver quality restoration. Upon importing the car from England in June, 2021, I completely refreshed the restoration and brought it up to concours standards. It was driven on a USA road for the first time at the Audrain Concours Tour d'Elegance around Aquidneck Island, RI for over sixty miles and performed flawlessly.

The original Lea Francis Ltd. coachbuilder's build tag, VIN plate, registered number plate, and the car's complete ownership history accompany the car.

Hi Jim,an old friend of Mine Mike Perkins in England (Now in his 80's) sold in auction his beloved Lee Francis to a Gary Staadt in USA a couple of years ago. Mike was the second owner of the car, originally owned by Charles Follet who I believe was the principal of the LF London Dealership. His was the car that raced at Brooklands. Mike has some photos he would like share with you. Can post them on your messenger? if you message me I can post them, or search Mike Perkins, he is the older smart gent with the MCC orange and yellow tie
