The Vancouver Mini Club ran its 2025 Fall Escape September 27th & 28th. We had 9 Classic Minis, 1 Modern MINI, 1 Ford Escort (imported from Finland) and its replacement a Ford Cortina.
We left on Saturday from the Start at our Hosts, Cedar Valley Alignment Shop in Mission, B.C. for Agassiz, Hope, Princeton & Picnic Lunch, then on to Aspen Grove, passed Merritt to Quilchena in the Nicola Valley and ended our day with a Pub Dinner at the Eye Bright Brewery - with a Mini shell on the wall - in North Kamloops.
Sunday, we headed towards Lac Le Jeune on the way to Logan Lake, the Highland Valley, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Marble Canyon and Lillooet for Lunch at the Reynolds Hotel. After Lunch, we descended the Fraser River Canyon to Lytton and Boston Bar, where we had ice cream and said our good byes to head back into the Fraser Valley and home. One couple left us in Lillooet to drive the Duffey Lake road to Pemberton, Whistler, Squamish and home in North Vancouver vs driving west through the Fraser Valley on a Sunday afternoon.
One VMC Member drove from the Okanagan Valley to meet us in Hope for the Saturday route, dinner and the overnight. A couple from Lake Country near Kelowna drove to Kamloops for Dinner and the overnight...and North America's fastest Classic Mini builder and driver, who lives just east of Kamloops in wee Pritchard, BC came for dinner with his wife.
For those who drove to the Start in Mission and the whole route they logged over 1,000 kilometres (approx 600 miles). We also raised more than $500 for the ALS Society.
