Hello everyone,
I acquired an interesting distributor in a box with a 25D4 this past weekend. It has the name S.E.V. on it and from poking around on the web a bit, it appears to be an S.E.V. Marchal distributor, made in France probably in the mid 1960s.

Two interesting things about it: first, it appears to be a really nice quality distributor --all the components are nicer than our Lucas ones in general(!) and secondly, the collar, shaft, and drive dog all match up with the 25D4 dimensions. (And it was in a box marked 'Mini Distributors').

Does anyone know if this was a common swap on Mini's? (Seems very unlikely it would be 'common' but maybe there was some reason why this might have been desirable? It is a little more compact than a 25D4). Thanks in advance for any information you might have on this.

Best regards,
