I would like to install a side entry distributor cap on my aftermarket 45D distributor. The pn on the side entry cap is DDB194 or GDC142. In ordering the cap there is a note that GRA2128 rotor must be used. That rotor looks physically different from the RED rotor and the GRA2128 appears to have a resister built in. Since the GRA2128 rotor appears to be on back order, is there a specific reason why the GRA 2128 rotor must be used with the side entry cap?
